Divorce and subsequent matters

When a family or a partnership breaks up, this means a drastic change in the entire way of life for those affected. In addition to the emotional strain, financial questions arise, especially in the areas of maintenance and property law. Our goal is to help the parties involved to remain in contact with each other in the future through out-of-court negotiations in the interest of the joint children.

Should a legal dispute be unavoidable, we will represent you with commitment in all areas of family law (divorce, maintenance, property equalization, parental custody, right of contact).

Prenuptial agreements

We also provide preventive advice on the conclusion of prenuptial agreements, regardless of whether you are planning to marry, are in an intact marriage or a crisis is already emerging.

The conclusion of a prenuptial agreement makes sense especially if you have a high level of assets and income. But especially when limited financial means are available, a divorce can cause economic difficulties, which, taking into account the interests of both parties, can be limited by precautionary arrangements. It often makes sense, for example, to protect real estate or companies by contract.

International family law

We are also happy to advise and represent you in marriages of foreign or mixed nationality. In this context, it must first be clarified whether a German court has international jurisdiction and whether German or foreign law is applicable. Questions also frequently arise as to the admissibility of choice of law clauses. If a foreign court decision already exists, it must be examined whether this court decision can be recognized in Germany and whether it can be enforced.
